I treated myself to a $10 sandwich at Eisenberg’s. Pastrami, Roast Beef, Swiss & Slaw. The first few bites were awesome, but then I was overwhelmed by all the meat …even though it’s not quite stacked like Carnegi Deli. For the second half of the sandwich, I took off most of the meat, leaving one/two layers and it was so much better. Maybe it would be sacrilegious to make a wimpy sandwich like that at a respectable New York deli, but why not? In the words of Homer Simpson, “…mmm. Sacrilicious.”
