I got asked last minute to play bass for Consequence at SOB’s. The show was rad. Playing with Statik Selektah and Rik Cordero DJing, Paula Campbell singing and guests John Legend & Ryan Leslie.
Went for pizza at nearby Spunto. Good fancy thin crust pizza. Perhaps thin crust is the way to go before a show. You never want to get too stuffed before a performance …or too drunk. HOT 97 and Hennessy sponsored the show. They put one bottle in the green room. That sucker went fast.
Jade and Curtis Santiago opened the show. I dug Curtis’ performance and dance moves. He does a lot of pop rock remixes of songs from T.I., Liykke Li, Kings of Leon, Tegan and Sara. You can download his mixtape here.

Ryan Leslie kept turning his head quickly back at me and I thought I had fucked up. But I think that’s just his dance moves.
