We went to Ike’s 2 year birthday down in South Park Slope. Rusty and I used to live down there and was nostalgic for some China One. I ate their Bean Curd with Mixed Vegetables in Garlic Sauce almost every night. It was so cheap and good. They make a mighty fine garlic sauce. So much better than my local one here in Williamsburg.

I was little nervous to revisit China One, because I never really said goodbye after three years of eating their food. I don’t know if they recognized me. It’s been five years since. The same mother and son was still working there. They were there every day and night. This time the younger son, who I remember as the little boy that ran around, was all grown up and cooking on the wok!

The food was just how I remembered it. The garlic sauce was awesome. Sam got his Eggplant Garlic Sauce and that was great. Rusty got his french fries and he was happy. I do remember thinking their beef tasted like lobster. I didn’t try to revisit that. It looks like a lot of things have changed in that down there, but that Chinese food is just how I remembered.
